Red Lead/Paperworks

Since taking up Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) creating and swapping them with people on and offline I've rekindled my desire for collage art. The first store that I went to for art supplies was Art Mart -- been going there off and on but didn't care for their stamp collection so with a little yellow pages and google-ing I found Red Lead that's on Manchester Road in Ballwin.

This store rocks - great merchandise and creatively friendly owners and customers. Every Saturday Red Lead offers free demos to see new techniques (or old techniques revamped) during the demo they usually offer some small refreshment and attendance prizes. I go more for the opportunity to be around other artists and just drink in the cool vibes of the people who I often see every week and the art work done by demonstrators and customers alike.

Red Lead is having an artist's weekend that kicks off this evening at 6:00 pm. I hope to get off work on time and get home freshen up and get to the store for a good seat. Hmmm. On second thought maybe I'll bring my own canvas chair. I've been threatening that for some time now. LOL.

Anyway I'm looking forward to this weekend and hopefully it's not too late to sign up for the soldering workshop at Red Lead this Sunday.

Creating Art Part 1 Section1 Column 2

Worked in my little cramped and cluttered studio in the basement. The boxes and containers I bought at Target or at Goodwill have made a great improvement but I still need to get more organized.

The creative process is extremely satisfying especially if you're cooking along. I had my first artists' high last month. I started working on Saturday evening around 9:00 pm and finally stopped at 4:15 am. then still on this artist high watched the ending of Pulp Fiction.

From art to crime...LOL funny.
