Tip-Ins

I've made a concerted effort to work on my art. So this past Sunday I started work on two separate tip-ins for two separate projects.

The first one is for Red Lead's Favorite Colors and the second for a member of the Bad Baby's group which is on 50's.

For Red Lead I chose the color red -- no particular reason other than that was the first paint I pulled out of the drawer, LOL. I have to make 32 copies for this tip in and find something appropriately cool to add as some embellishments that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

When I get a chance I'll attach the pictures for these.

Strange Mood Sunday

Having come to the conclusion that I will never buy another Lexmark printer I went out to Office Max and returned the reburbished catridge and looked at the printers at the store.

I left and thought about it for a couple of hours then went back to Office Max and bought an HP inkjet printer forgot the model number but it's Wi-Fi ready which means once I get hi-speed connectivity and get rid of the awful dial-up I'll be swinging!

I printed out what I wanted really late last night for the collage from hell -- I'm not totally satisfied with the layout but with the printer I can do some rearranging and adding and subtracting -- it's funny how you can start on a collage/assemblage and have it "sit" and then realize that's not the direction you want to go in and start a fresh arrangement. I like that.

Tammy's Art Blog: Mad & I try out collage (art recipe for fun)

Tammy's Art Blog: Mad & I try out collage (art recipe for fun)

Sunday May 21

The weather has been really cool and pleasant. Last night I worked on the art collage from hell. The priner wouldn't print the image correctly -- using an old version of Photoshop - it's either the work space or the printer. It sucked.

So I try using the other printer I got very cheaply at Target with my laptop. Big mistake. No drivers. Went online took an hour to download the driver for the now Discontinued POS printer. Sucks. Then the refurbished cartridge didn't want to cooperate. My laptop recognizes the printer but the printer won't print. The POS.

Art is not for the faint of heart. Undaunted I decided to read some slash. OK if you don't know what that is don't look it up. It's for adults and well....just if you don't know don't ask me. I'll deny it.

I'm not kidding. Seriously. But it does involve Mulder and Skinner

And you thought I just did artwork? LOL>

Art Fair @ Laumier

Went to the Art Fair at Laumier Sculpture park. What a blast! Lots of great artwork and some of the nicest artists I've ever met!

I spent about 150 on art which is something I haven't done in a long time! Saw some art that I so wish I could have purchased.

Maybe next year!

What do you see when you close your eyes? #1

I had started cutting out pictures and needed to create something just to keep my artistic sanity and came up with the collage on the left.

This is using Golden Acrylic green, liquid medium (my new love), recycled postcard (the background) and two images from a couple of magazines. I think both of the images were from ads. I particularly like the scrap of sandpaper I grabbed off my work table to stamp the saying on - it gives the work some tactile interaction.

I've decided to do a series entitled "What do you see..." (which i've not done before except for ATC's. I should have another one done by this weekend.

I've got about 4 more Dick Blick 4x6 panels. The next one is red. And the others will be in blue and yellow. The primaries doncha know.
